Has anyone dove Rock Lake in Wisconsin? There are supposed underwater burial tombs in this lake. Built by the same people who built the temple mound pyramids. As to date there is not alot of coverage or research on net about this lake. Any info would be cool! 8)

Also on another note. How do i get the #$@! html tag for email to stop showing in my posts. >Sad
Do a search here and on wiscuba.com. I've read threads about people diving Rock lake. I think there was someone on wiscuba.com that was even talking to some researchers.

I think the email html tag is generated when you select the YABBC email tag when editing the post.

It would be cool if we could put together a group of divers and finally put to rest whether or not these things exist. Some divers i talked to say they exist yet others insist they do not. Possible Urban Legend??? Smile
I dove the "pyramids' about 10-12 years ago and they are no more than glorified rock piles.

I was by the lake a couple of weekends ago andthe vis looked pretty good. It doens't stay that way since the lake is actually just a dammed up river and has quite a bit of silt build up in it.

Still, it's a good place to freedive/spearfish during the right seasons.

Here's a shot from one of our spearing trips there last summer:

Here's a shot of some of the "rocks" that make up part of the lake bottom- the part not covered by a meter of muck!

Here's my buddy, Jurgen, out on his first ever spearfishing trip. We went in August and had about 6' of vis, but close to 74 degree water temps above the thermocline.

This is my main freediivng buddy, Ted, with one that didn't get away. Wink

Jon
Ummm . . . Jon, does your buddy Ted eat carp? I've heard of smoking them . . . Wink

What else types of fish can you legally spearfish?

BTW - if you'd like, I've a great recipe for pickled northern . . .
One of the ladies on our underwater hockey team smokes the carp for us.

In Wisconsin you can spear panfish in most lakes in the southern half of the state. We normally go for crappie, bluegill and perch.

C'mon Jon,
fix the pics for us.. I know you can do it!
