Join Jay Chester for the annual Scuba Center underwater fishing weekend, July 8-10.

If that got your attention, then read on for more details.

We will be camping at the Bent Trout Lake Campground and diving and fishing in their private lake.  Bent Trout Lake is located 30 miles south of Duluth near Barnum, Minnesota (about a two hour drive from the Twin Cities).  Come up on Friday evening and make it a family weekend.

The campground has set aside a group tent area for us where camping will be $5.00 per person per night (two night minimum).  They also have sites available for campers (complete with water and electric service) at $20.00 per camper per night (two night minimum).  Check out the Bent Trout Lake Campground web site at for a map, rates, and pictures of the campground.

We will have buddy team registration starting at 11:00 Saturday morning with the fishing dive starting at noon.  Buddy teams will be able to use ice fishing poles, and lures or bait.  Certificates will be awarded for the buddy team with the biggest fish and for the most fish caught.  The lake is privately stocked with trout and they charge $2.50 per pound for trout.  However the Northerns, Bass, and panfish are free.  As this is a private lake, no fishing license is required.  Bring the kids and let them fish from shore.

On Saturday evening we will have a bonfire and popcorn after sundown.  Bring your own drinks and your favorite diving story to share.  Don't forget your lawn chairs.

Each buddy team will need a dive flag.   Remember to make advanced reservations for any rental equipment you may need to pick up for the weekend.  We will be limiting this weekend to the first twelve divers who call and register.
Pre-registration is required.
