Body of Andover Woman Recovered from Big Sandy Lake

Searchers on Saturday found the body of an Andover woman who had been missing in Big Sandy Lake, north of McGregor in northern Minnesota.

Linda Marie Dilling, 52, was reported missing by her husband Friday afternoon, Aitkin County Sheriff Scott Turner said. After an afternoon of fishing, she reportedly jumped off a pontoon boat to go for a swim, the sheriff said.

Searchers and a State Patrol helicopter were unable to find her Friday. After about eight more hours of searching Saturday, using side-scan sonar and scuba divers, Dilling's body was found in about 22 feet of water.

An extremely rocky bottom and limited visibility hampered the search, the sheriff said.

Dilling's body was taken to the Ramsey County medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
