I need a little computer help here.  I have this old laptop that the screen just broke on.  Screen is blank(looks more like broken glass) after a nasty little tumble .  I'm not so woried about the laptop as its old and was free, but I would realy like to get my almost done TAXES off of it.  Is there any way to hook up a monitor to it so I can download the taxes to a disk???

Does your laptop have a VGA port on it? It is usually a blue female connection with 15 holes in it. If so plug in your monitor and turn the laptop on. You will most likely have to hit FN-F7 (usually, although it could be FN-F5) to send the signal to the monitor.

another option would be to purchase an external USB case.  Remove the hard drive from the laptop and install it in the case.  You now have a portable hard drive you can plug into any usb equipped computer.
