GARRISON — Authorities in Crow Wing County were investigating on Wednesday the death of a woman whose body was found at the bottom of Borden Lake.

The sheriff's office was waiting for preliminary autopsy results to determine if the body is that of Nancy Lou Hesner.

Hesner was reported missing on Dec. 19, four days before the woman's body was found by divers in the lake near Hesner's home in Garrison Township.

Sheriff Eric Klang said it's not known how long the body was in the lake, but it doesn't appear the woman fell through the ice. He said the woman was not wearing winter clothing.

Investigators don't know when Hesner was last seen, what she was doing at the time she disappeared, or if she was with anyone.

Hesner was reported missing by her husband's lawyer.
