Going down kinda by the Big Casino near the boarder of MN and Iowa on Highway 35 called Diamond Jo Casino.  There is a small pond in a park near the town of Northwood.  From Owatonna it is less than an hour away.  Never been there but I guess there is no boats that go on it and there is a few things to be found.  Suppose to be HOT that day so it should be a good day.  If anyone is around and wants to go hit me up and I will give you directions.  I know how to get to the town, but dont know where from there.  But I will find out.

Little late, but curious, how did you like the dive? 

I grew up in Northwood and know the area well.  As kids, on hot days we would ride our bikes out for a swim in that lake.

My dad lost his truck in that pond a few years ago.  Also, a couple of divers lost their lives in that mine while ice diving with no lines attached.

Hey!  Yes I enjoyed this.  We dove the less busy one to the south.  Where you have to walk down steps to get to the lake.  Took some good pictures.  Saw many bass and sunnys.  Also the cliff like structure around some of the pond was cool.  Must have been where they dug it out.
WOW!  Ice diving with no lines!  I think I heard about a truck that went in.  What ever happened to that.  I know there is a trailor and an old car down there.
