When your diving in weed infested lakes and on a line, to keep the line from hanging up in the weeds, try and make floats for the rope by cutting one of the noodles that the kid use in the pool and fasten arround the rope and keep in place some plastic zip tys. Cut them them about 12 inches long and slit them down one side. works great and is cheap.
