Im looking to get a 13cf argon cylinder. I was thinking about mounting it to my doubles. Just curious what kind of mounting hardware people have used or Im open to other suggestions for placement.
I mount my steel 12/15 cu ft bottle with ss quick links to the back plate, or D rings on Transpac harness.  Left side below arm  is tradition, as light goes on belt right side. inverted so it can be turned on/off if necesarry by self.  It should also be attached in a location that is low profile, or does not stick out for entanglement or obstruct access into tight quarters.

My rig is packed for diving, if weather permits and we dive, then I'll take a couple pictures.

If I mounted it to the left side of my backplate, would it get in the way if I were to sling an 80 or sling 2 40s on that side?
I don't use Arg but I don't see an issue with stage. Most of the time stages hang down too far and you need to add chokers to pull them into your shoulder and hip. The arg is tight to your ribs and the stage is below that.

Not at all, and that is why I mentioned the size of drysuit cylinder I carry on the left side.  The cylinder tucks in neatly on your side and you can clip off as many stages on either side without the drysuit gas or light canister getting in the way.
I think I see what he may be asking, "or D-rings on a Transpac harness." A transpac has small 1 inch D-rings along the sides of the back (plate), Deep Thought wasn't saying the normal shoulder D-rings. That would make a mess of things so don't hang the Arg from a shoulder.
Thanks guys. The 13 mounted on the backplate is the way Im going to go.
Looks like weather will let us out on the lake, so I had time to prep the rig for diving tomorrow.  Here is a couple shots of the suit gas bottle mounted on the harness D-rings.  I think you will like the 13 size, as I can get 2-3 days of diving out of a fill.
Thanks a lot for posting the pictures. Its nice to get the visual. Dive Rite makes a nice simple mount for the backplate, so Ill probably go with that.
