We are too late for an Ice Out pole so I moved to a use case. What date will the first OW dive happen.

Lake Superior doesn't count, it didn't freeze.

Do you define ow as open water with zero ice.. or ow for 50 feet and the rest of lake ice?

Well if its a large lake you might have the option to do an ice dive on one side.. and a mile away it might be all open... ice isn't a static entity. :-\

I just completed my 385th dive for this season.

Never mind.....

Last year my first dive was on April 17th at Perch Lake, WI. It was totally open - no ice. But I think this year might run a little longer, although I hope not.

We do have less ice this year

Northwest Divers from Moorhead has their river run scheduled for the 17th.

too late. last weekend shore dive open spot on tonka! vis seemed increadible. maybee15. very weird as water was moving back and forth slowly with surface swirls
