In Brooklyn Center, MN at the Crowne Plaza off Shingle Creek Parkway and 694, the voyage begins on February 24th through the 25th 2012. The 13th annual Upper Midwest Scuba and Adventure Travel Show is presented by the Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society.  The 2012 UMSAT show will be held at the lovely Crowne Plaza Hotel in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota.  This is a great event for anyone interested in all facets of scuba diving, shipwreck hunting, maritime history, underwater photography, extreme adventures and exotic vacations.

Come hear about the exciting recovery efforts of notorious pirate Blackbeard’s ship Queen Anne’s Revenge as Dr. Mark Wilde-Ramsing director of Queen Anne’s Revenge shipwreck project tells his tale.  Catch the wave of 3-D with a 3-D underwater video presented by professional underwater videographer Evan Kovacs.  There will be a wealth of industry professionals to help you learn about scuba diving, shipwreck diving, local Minnesota destinations and help plan your next exotic adventure.

Come get your feet wet on Saturday February 25th with the Discover Scuba classes.  For the more adventurous and advanced scuba divers who don’t want to blow underwater bubbles, there will be Discover Re-breather classes on Saturday also.   The UMSAT show includes a raffle, silent auction, banquet, and exhibits by professionals with the latest technology.  On Friday, February 24th 2011, the UMSAT show will host the annual Friday Night at the Movies.  This is an excellent chance to see and hear your peers’ underwater adventures.  For more information and tickets, visit .

The Great Lakes Shipwreck Preservation Society is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization established in 1996 to stabilize and protect our deteriorating shipwrecks of the Great Lakes region.  The GLSPS sponsored scuba show began in 1999 to showcase shipwreck diving, sport diving and maritime history in the Great Lakes.  The show has expanded over the years to include:  ocean diving, technical diving, and adventure travel.  The UMSAT show is the major fundraiser to support the GLSPS projects that help preserve and document shipwrecks.  For more information about the GLSPS,  please visit their website at .
