Any visibility reports from St. James quarry this year?
I was there this past Friday as well as yesterday.  Visibility is pretty good below the thermocline, yet a bit milky above the thermocline.  Visibility is noticeably better than it was about a month ago.  - Kirk
Thanks for the reply, any estimate  30' or 50' ??

Might go up there Friday if the vis is good. Vis everywhere else seems to be down.
I’m always a bad judge of feet of visibility but I’d say better than 50’ in the deep near the boat landing.  At 150’ of depth you certainly don’t need a light (I didn’t dare go deeper because I think I have a bit of residual nitrox in my tanks, but the sensor in my oxygen analyzer needs replacement so am not sure to what extent).  The visibility was less than 30’ in the shallows above 20’ to 25’ feet in depth, with the exception of an area on the north side of the pit, opposite the parking lot, with a large spring where the visibility was great starting at the surface.    This pit always seems to get better visibility toward the end of the summer and into the early fall.  - Kirk
where is this quarry located? ???
Thanks for the info. Hope to get up there on Friday.

St. James is located at Aurora MN, about 13 miles from Gilbert MN (Ore-B-Gone)
ok, thanks.  ;D
