I've dove up there a couple times last year. It was worth the trip but no where as good as Wazee or the pits up north. Vis was easily 20-30ft and the fish were active. There are a number of pits to dive and all had something neat to see, sunken boats, heavy equipment, signs etc.
Bring a cart for all your gear and if you go in the summer, bring some bug spray.

If enough people want to go? Do a sunday dive and picnic up there. I think that it would be best to check it out first though.

I know a few years ago, you had to have a permit to dive in the quarries. There was no fee for the permit, but you did have to fill out a form and show your C-Card in order to obtaion the permit. Permits were available Monday through Friday at the park office.
You might see if MSD in St. Cloud would have these permits. I know before they purchased the dive store, Ed & Lisa would have some permits available.
