Re: Dump truck in mine - Shooter - 07-30-2010

That means it will still be there for diving this weekend.... ;D  anyone going? I was thinking about maybe going and doing some night diving too

Re: Dump truck in mine - Shooter - 07-30-2010

Found out what that toolbox we recovered was worth....

I'd really like to go digging around inside the dump truck if anybody is up for it.

Wow holy crap Shooter- no wonder they wanted it back!

Re: Dump truck in mine - mermaid - 07-30-2010

Quite the recovery Shooter :o

Looks like it would be a good dive, but I haven't been that deep yet :-\

Shooter,
I don't think I can go swimmin' this weekend  :'(. I didn't get a pardon from the governor. Good work on looking up that thingy. That was quite the lift... memorable. I looked up the vans weight on Kelly Blue Book and it is something like 5,355 pounds dry weight, and even if it were in "excellent condition" the retail on the van is only $2,525. The box is worth more than the van... Go figure.

Things changed and I can go diving tomorrow...

Re: Dump truck in mine - DetectorGuy - 07-31-2010

Shooter and I met with Trinity and Molly and dove a few dives on the trucks toady. The weather couldn't be better, but the viz could have been better. Viz was spotty with 6'-8' on the van and maybe 15' on the dump truck. I guess they had some rain there lately and that was probably the culprit. We also saw Doug and Curtis up there but they were hitting some other areas. There was another "wrecker company" that swung by to do a drive by inspection of the site and formulate a plan (although it was a bad one) on how to remove the trucks. We removed another piece of the drilling and tapping machine from the van and dropped it off at the Crosby Police Department. Here are some photos of Trinity and Shooter on the dumptruck.

Thanks John and Nate, dandy good diving with you guys yesterday, and always good sharing a cold one with Doug and Curtiss. I'm hoping both trucks just settle further into the silt and ultimately stay right where there at. The day was as nice as could be, the vis was a little poor but hey the company was dandy.      TRINITY
