goals for 2005 - MNLakeDiver - 03-30-2005

we have done this in the past but new year new goals.

What do you want to acumplish in diving this year. New cert, # of dives, new Location, saving for new gear....

this came to mind durring an email with a fellow diver talking about planning my year.

I would like to log 60 dives this year
I wolud like to invest in a dry suit this year
I want the drysuit because I want to dive Superior this year
I have not chose between adv. nitrox or DM training
I want to improve my frog kick so I don't look like a frog in an epa test area

enugh about me your turn...

ps spelling missed the list again ;D

Re: goals for 2005 - Appolion - 03-30-2005

I'm a new diver, so I don't really know what to expect.

1) First and foremost, I want to get my four open water dives done with and get my certification.
2) Purchase most/all of my gear.
3) Log at least 45 regular dives.
4) Work towards getting my Advanced Open Water Diver certification. Specialty courses being; Deep Diver, Underwater Navigator, Night Diver, Underwater Photographer, Wreck Diver.
5) If I have enough time, get my Rescue Diver certification.

Do these goals seem reasonable from a seasoned divers perspective?

Re: goals for 2005 - decoeric - 03-31-2005

I am planning on a huge dive season this year.

I have a new dive buddy for the season that I can't wait to dive with.
I have 2 new steel 108's to get wet. A new computer, and a new stage bottle.
I am hoping to get at least 60-80 dives logged before Christmas.
I want to get at least 40-50 dives in this year below 200'
For Certs. I would like to do TDI Extended Range and the entry level Trimix class maybe. I am signed up for Advanced Nitrox for June.
I am going to Isle Royale in August and doing Scuba Centers Madiera fun dives the weekend of September 16th. I will also be doing a few fun dive weekends with both Scuba Dive and Travel and Scuba Center, those are my 2 favorite shops.
More than anything I just want to dive safely and have a great spring and summer meeting fellow divers.

Re: goals for 2005 - Al - 03-31-2005

I need a new computer!

It would sure be nice to be able to download my dives to a PC, switch gas on the fly and use it for freediving (and read a book during deco)... all for less than the price of a car.

I also would like to redo my CPR training (1976) and take the rescue course.

Re: goals for 2005 - ArmAmpDiver - 03-31-2005

5) Start buying my own gear ;D
6) Get my Advanced Open Water cert.

Re: goals for 2005 - Omicron - 03-31-2005

My goals for the year are to hit another 100 dives.  I'm itching to hit the water right now but nothing is open by me.

At the end of the year we're heading down to Florida again...my big goal is to finish up my cave training.  Directly after that I want to complete the Grand Traverse in the Peathingy Springs system.  I can't wait Smile

Wow... some ambitious plans out there!  My plans are a bit more modest:

1)  Go on a dive outing at least once a month.
2)  Get my Wreck Diver certification.
3)  Dive Wazee, Ore-be-Gone and Superior.
4)  Refresh my Rescue Diver and Emergency 1st Response skills.
5)  Dive with and help my son (new Jr. OW Diver) develop his diving skills.
6)  Meet and dive with MNScuba users!
7)  Dive safe and have fun.
