Question of the day - grumpie - 03-01-2006

If you were to make three dives in a row to 94 feet  with 13 mins of bottom time each. your surface interval is 3hrs/34 mins between dives, whats your ending letter group.

I think this is a trick question Smile  It depends upon which set of tables you are using.

Using both the PADI RDP and Wheel, your ending pressure group is K

Using Navy tables, your ending pressure group is F

This all assumes you are not calculating the dives as strenous, or cold water dives and use the "add 10 ft" guideline that PADI teaches.

This would put you right at the no-decompression limits at "L" via the wheel, and "M" via the RDP

I would think you'd be diving a computer (or 2) and only use the tables as backup.

Good Answer.
I normaly use navy tables when diving. The bottom time  when doing PSD is never more than 20 mins. unless you are doing something, then it can be extended by 5 mins.
