N Florida Cave Country - Deep Thought - 12-03-2011

Having a great dive trip to N Florida Cave Country with Cindy, Dave and Al.  So far we have dived every day, and have had 50 - no 70's for air temps with clear skies and sunshine!  We have dived at Peacock, Lil River, Cow, Forty Fathom Grotto, and Eagles Nest.  Photos at Eagles Nest were difficult as it is such a big black hole in the ground, so vast and dark walled that it was hard to get enough light.  But conditions are great with lower water, and lower flow.

We dove at Forty Fathoms to do CCR Trimix Bail Out skills, and a fun dive to find the plug at the bottom....

Vis is getting better each time I go there, and they say they don't add chemicals.  Mmmm, wonder what the chlorine smell is from???

It has been a great week of diving with you Ron.  Thanks for everything Smile
Oh, and a big thanks to Al and Cindy too :p

Dave a pleasure diving with you too.  The knarly silt, blind line, restriction at Telford was waaaaaay spoooooky and you handled it so well - you were well trained.  And the adventure getting in the system and floating down the river...what a fun dive!!!

Here are a couple pics of Telford cave without silt  ;D

Telford was definitely a dive to remember! It had a little bit of everything. Thanks for letting me silt it up for ya'll  ;D
It is on my like to do again list for sure!

Dave, it was good to see you and Al down in North Florida.  I hope you enjoyed your visit to Jackson Blue earlier this week (which has probably become my favorite cave down here).  Yeah, I just did a couple dives in Telford today.  Other than the convoluted way of getting there and back, that cave certainly is a treat.  I think I’m heading to Cow tomorrow and some other system the next day.  I have to be back in Minneapolis on Monday.  It’s a shame having this trip come to an end.  - Kirk

Ditto on what Al said.  I can see why you like JB, there is definitely a lot to see! Have a great dive and safe trip home.

JB was an awesome dive, next time I will have to bring the camera and get some pics.  Those beautiful white walls and nooks / crannies will be great for photo ops.

Here are some pics of Al and Dave in Lil River.  We had a fun first dive making the circuit and short cut tunnel.
