Lake Superior Jan 6?
I know it's late notice, but I'd like to dive the cribs below Fitger's here in Duluth on Saturday.  As some of you may have read, there is a mysterious "crib" that washed ashore a few weeks back.  I've heard some say it's from a breakwall, which runs parallel to the old grain dock.  These were built in the late 1860's, I believe.  The railroad came to Duluth in 1868, and the grain dock was built a couple of years later.  These things are really cool.

So, I want to investigate where this came from...perhaps two dives, if all goes well.  Tomorrow, I want to stop into the Maritime museum to hopefully get some info about this area.

Our dive went well.  This crib that washed ashore a few weeks back is most certainly not from the line of cribs we dive during the spawn.  Measurements aren't the same, and construction is quite different, also.  This thing on shore seems "newer", with tighter gaps between the 12" beams, and the dovetails are also much tighter than those under water.

At this point, we have no idea as to where this thing floated in from.

Good day of diving, though!
