Fishing Expo at the Great Lakes Aquarium

Here's a FYI, very short notice too

Saturday and Sunday the 17th and 18th (yep tomorrow...) the Great Lakes Aquarium is having a "Fishing Expo."  Although not specifically diving related, admission is cheap and we (Innerspace and the Superior/Douglas County Dive Team) will be doing a underwater Q&A/Dive Demo using our OTS com system so if you have any kids who have never seen divers that you could talk to underwater it might be something fun to do!

DULUTH - Great Lakes Aquarium introduces a brand new event this March 16, 17 & 18 - the 2007 Duluth Superior Fishing & Aquatic Expo (DSFAX). This event celebrates "Fins, family and friends on Northland waters," and brings the best of a boat & fishing show and conservation expo together for one exciting weekend.

The Duluth Superior Fishing & Aquatic Expo starts on Friday evening at Great Lakes Aquarium with Duluth Mayor Herb Bergson's declaration of "Teach a kid to fish day" in Duluth and an hors d'oeuvres reception for the opening of the "Fish" exhibition in the PASTA/Merrill Lynch Fine Arts Gallery. Saturday and Sunday will feature over 20 regional exhibitors including Lund boats, Marine Genera, Gander Mountain, Minn Aqua, Minnesota Sea Grant and many, many more! Environmental organizations will also be on hand to educate the public about responsible enjoyment of our "Northland waters." Both days will include an adult lecture and demonstration series, hand-on activities for youth, and hourly GLA floor programs featuring SCUBA divers during the popular "Isle Royal Revealed" show at 11am.

DSFAX exhibitors and activities will be set up throughout Great Lakes Aquarium and the public is encouraged to explore the building and visit with the different exhibitors. Admission to this unique event is only $6 for adults and $2 for children 11 and under - this includes general Aquarium admission to all programs and exhibits - that's over half off the regular admission price!
