Re:kayak diving
I only own a singles, but my buddy, Ted, bought a tandem so that he could use it with his girlfriend too. He bought the middle of the road Ocean Kayak, Agean, tandem. This way he can mount a seat in hte center to use it solo if he wants to .

I dive it both ways, towing or anchoring. It all depends upon what I am doing. If I am scuba diving I will tow it with me by the wreck reel, easier to let out line that way. It actually tows easier than a flag and float- especially those innertube ones! For freediving off the tandem, we'll paddle to a certain part of the lake and anchor. Then we each go off in sperate directions with our speagun floats to keep the boats away. We only go back to the boat if we're going to move locations, or the end of the day.
