My friend who lives just a couple blocks from the store tried to arrange equipment for us to go on a "Fun" dive trip at Crosby this weekend.

He made 4 trips to the store, he called several times, he walked into the store once with $300 in his pocket to buy some equipement and arrange rental of the rest of the equipment for our "fun" dive.

Finally the last time the person behind the counter said, "well I will let the owner know, he will get in touch with you." A week later he calls and gives a weak answer "I sorry I don't think we will be able to equip you."

Now I feel bad because my friend spent close to 4 hours trying to build a repoire with this place, and since I am 50 minutes away he feels like a butt because he had to cancel the trip! We just want to have "FUN" people, like we have diving outside MN.

Can someone please recommend a dive shop that:

A) wants our business
B) would like our money
C) will treat us like a customer

THANKS!

I do not know where you live but I would love to help you at Blue Wave Scuba in Maple plane.
I believe "Wags" or Jasmen would be on today
or call 952-486-7484 for the shop or 763-742-9393 for my cell

PS. we are heading to Crosby on the 20th through the 22nd of July

I don't know anything about A Diver's World / their operation.  I will second arcFlash and recommend SCUBA Center.

Re: http://www.adiversworld.com
I want to offer a different opinion to the board and the OP in particular. Also I will point out that I am in no way affilliated with the LDS that was mentioned. That being said.

I think threads like these should be removed by the admins.

We only have one side of the story. The LDS should not have to come to a place like this to defend itself. And in the end, even if the LDS remedied the situation this post will linger and people searching for the LDS will initially see a negative post title and first few paragraphs and possibly formulate a negative opinion when in reality the store may have been in the right  and/or took steps to remedy the situation.

Also, for many sites the terms which are agreed to upon registering with a site often come with rules regarding these types of posts. Basically, if you want to say something that might be taken as defamatory you may have to list your real identify (and yes, via email address, IP address, logs and legal means) that identity will probably be revealed whether you think it is possible or not.

I think allowing posts like these just drag the entire forum down.

On the other hand, had the OP said: "I went to a LDS which I will not name and they sucked and treated me poorly  and then I went to LDS 'X' and they treated me awesome" I would have been all for it.

Just because this is the internet and it seems anonymous, it really isn't. And the rights of a individual business owners are still protected.

Just my opinion anyways...

Re: http://www.adiversworld.com
I can agree with some of your statements QIX, and the admin did moderate the post removing language they thought was too strong.

I don't disagree with it being moderated it's not my site to begin with. I only disagreed with the admin that the language was over the top. Do I have a beef about it? no. The changes the Moderator made were minimal and kept the message the same.

My main reason for posting this was to warn other consumers and I welcome the dive shop in question to work hard and earn back my friend and I as customers, they have our number.

My wife and I own a small business so I understand very well how customer opinion is important but I also believe we work hard to win our customers trust and we expect the same when working with other businesses and being customers of other businesses.

Re: http://www.adiversworld.com
Have you contacted the owners directly on your firend's behalf to voice any complaints, or are you just airing dirty laundry annonymously here and proving Qix's point?

Re: http://www.adiversworld.com
Just try other dive shops until you find one that you really like. There are more than enough dive shops in the Twin Cites to keep everyone happy.
