Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
firstly dude in pic is not me. its fran Mahad who lives on bald eagle lake.(and a specialist for that lake).

who would want it? id love to have it alive. there are a few international dealers of carp that would pay top dollar  for use as brood stock. but id also consider a mount for the wall. .. and i dont consider myself the mount type. although i do have quite a few more fish mounts than a care to admit now that i think about it.

Sorry I "miswrote" popo :-\. Should've written something like...the carp in the pic you posted is...(blah, blah, blah).  Didn't know carp was a fish that people paid top dollar for, (or, after a web search, that there are as many kinds of carp as there are.)

Anyway, back to Terry's regularly scheduled blog (ok program :-\) ;D

Ya but only in the winter Popo, all summer long,  boating Tonks is more like heaven, I always see 70 virgins running about in their little bikinis and with all my good karma, makes me feel like I died every time I launch out there. The way the weather is warming, maybe we should jump tomorrow.

Okay...I'll bite...
1.  how do you know that ALL 70 of them are virgins?  and
2.  what makes you think your good karma (LMAO!!) has anything to do with it?

ha ha ha...OK

we are famous for our presidents who use cigars to test the waters(not pink cigars)..

In the case of the "Anchor Men" they test the hole with a 38inch chain saw! stick it in. occasionally she bottoms out, and might need to be rocked back and forth before it clears, might need to rev the engine a tad. also with the more advanced ice we got it might take it all the way to the end of the shaft. eventually even the toughest hole will open up wide enough to  take a look, if it looks good jump it...of course once your in,wether it is good or not, your kinda committed to make a good show of it and finish it right. lest you get a bad reputation as one who chickens out.... for reasons i dont fully understand i like a clean symmetrical geodesicly even hole, its mental, but i feel somehow that the dive is a better one,  but in the end any hole will do.

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge

Okay, so the Anchor Men test the holes by piercing the ice with a 38 inch chain saw, a HUGE saw, and if the ice is tough, it might take the whole shaft of the saw.  Now you popo, you like to jump a clean geodesical hole, but as long as you can jump, any hole will do.  I think I got THAT part...  Big Grin

What I still don't get, is how Terry knows that all 70 of those "virgins" running about in their little bikinis, are ALL virgins ???

Re: TRINITY'S 2nd Annual 2011-2012 Icing Challenge
my baD.

Sorry about that. turned out to  be very weird dive. looking down you could see diver 10-12ft down from the surface looking down. but in the water we had only 2ft vis!!! dont understand how that is possible. normally you see more underwater than from the surface down. lots of suspended particles, and soft bottom. I can only theorize that with warm weather surface run off lowered vis. there are storm sewer drainage that feeds this lake. in one spot i hit a "room", a corner in weedline were vis opened up to probably 15-20ft vis. but that was it. not much..

ohh
