Re: TRINITY'S 3rd annual 2012/2013 icing challenge
I ran into a webcam from Chapmans Resort on the South end of Isle Bay: The camera refreshes every 5 minutes and is pointing North. The 6 proposed dive sites are just around the point on the left side of the webcams view. I realize this is kind of useless info, but its kinda neat. If anyone gets lost on the 23rd trying to find the Father Hennepin State Park access (N46 08.903' W93 29.090'), they could drive out from Chapmans (N46°28.303′ W93°28.517′) but they charge $10 access fees. I have not made contact with the folks at the State Park to make sure it is open, but I am pretty sure it is.

Re: TRINITY'S 3rd annual 2012/2013 icing challenge
Weather outlook for Saturday Feb 23rd looks good (not like we could do anything about it anyway) I looked at several weather forecasts for Isle during the next seven days. Sounds like some snow starting Thursday night running into Friday night with accumulations up to 8" by Saturday Morning. Lows Saturday morning about 11F and the high Saturday afternoon about 27F. The wind is supposed to be 5MPH or less and mostly cloudy. With the fresh snow and cloud cover, divelights would be prudent. Nate is going to bring a Vexlar depth finder to help hone in on the top of the groove so we can cut any holes at the 16' deep range. From this line toward shore it gets shallower very gradually and drops to 35' deep very rapidly going away from shore. This line will be approximately 1/4 mile off shore. I am going to bring an ice auger and a drop camera to confirm bottom composition prior to cutting the hole we dive from. Any of you are more than welcome to use our auger & drop camera prior to cutting your holes. I would hate to put you guys on a moonscape  >Big Grin. I have put feelers out there to resort owners fishing for any information of good or better structure to dive on in the area and If I hear anything I will ammend the [glow=red,2,300]Master Dive Plan[/glow]. Like I said if anyone has a hard time locating us from the public access, Shut off the engine, roll down your window, and listen for the Freddie Mercury music ;D

As usual the GM (government motors) will be behind the mighty 7.3 diesel, waiting for the hard work to be done. In another demonstration of good karma and olive branch extension, Team Honey Badger will not be charging a road toll.  :Smile  ;D
PS be sure to bring your Freddy cd's or 8 tracks. what are you grillin' for lunch?

Gotta love the pics of the mini water falls(Minnetonka Falls).

The black and white looks pretty cool.

Heck, all of them are really cool, because I am in them.  Ha, Ha, Ha..  ;D  >Big Grin

Re: TRINITY'S 3rd annual 2012/2013 icing challenge
I just added page 54 to the [glow=red,2,300]Master Dive Plan[/glow]. I tried to overlay a nice contour map from the maps on Lakefinder but the PDF format maps won't overlay on GoogleEarth and the one that was in the TIFF format was an old crappy contour map with zero detail. The triangles are to the proposed ice holes and the colored circles are 150' radius' from each proposed hole. Each of these holes will provide virgin territory with zero overlap... provided everyone limits themselves to 150' ropes.
