Training ( how far to go)

Well, right now I am planning on going up to Advanced Open Water and will probably stay with the same agency, just because I know them and they've treated me pretty good so far. I would like to ice dive next year, but don't know if I feel it's necessary to be certified in it as long as I do enough research on my own from experienced divers. I'd also like to do wreck diving and feel the same about that as I do ice diving. It's my personal opinion that a lot of these courses were created to make money. Yes, I'm sure there's lots of value added information you can get with getting certified, and it probably is worth it but at this point in time I just can't see spending too much more on training. Experience is you best guide... and until the Scuba Police chase me out of the water for not having enough certifications I'll leave it at that.
