U.S. admiralty law as per Wicki today

"A state court hearing an admiralty or maritime case is required to apply the admiralty and maritime law, even if it conflicts with the law of the state, under a doctrine known as the "reverse-Erie doctrine"."


also under this law if i understand it,even if the state did claim ownership, the salvagor would be able to charge for salvaging.
if i were to speculate...could the charge be in excess of the value such that every bottle cap and cigarette that was removed could bring a $100 bill much like the government once paid out per Blackbird foot brought in.


call me paranoid but i would like to understand what i can and cannot do with my american freedom
