Have you taken a Dry Suit cert. class? If not, it's a pretty good idea since there are some real good tips you can get straight off. If not you can spend a great deal of time struggling with boyancy fine tuning and other issues. For "practice" recommend coming out to Wed. Fun Dives at Square Lake if you live in the Twin Cites.
Good thinking on your part to get comfortable using a dry suit before doing Superior...better to be comfortable with everything so you can enjoy the great experience that lake provides.
