Dive Crosby Sunday, 10/12????
Looking for someone to dive with this Sunday. Arrive Crosby about 9:30, 2 or 3 dives, head home by about 5 or so.

I'm up for some dives on Sunday. I've never been there. Where should we meet? How long is the drive? I'd be coming from Minneapolis.

Sounds good to me. Which lake do you want to go to? Dano is also going to be able to make this trip.

Wow - great response.

For Sunday -
DanO
DanG
Kirk
Jean
Lonnie (?)
DanL (me)
Others????

Suggested plan -
Leave cities by about 7AM (about 2hr 15 min drive)
Arrive Crosby by 9:30 (meet at the SA (or is it a Holiday?))
Choose a dive site and drive over together (Louise has been clear and is good for new divers, but there are many sites to choose from)

For those new to Crosby - best to have air tanks for each planned dive with you. Or go to MN School of Diving in Brainerd for air/equipment. (If you have never been to this dive shop, plan to stop in and see the place & meet the staff - worth the visit) Their Sunday hours are 10 to 5 and they are about 25 min away from the pits at Crosby.
You can break and eat in Crosby, or bring food and bev with you. Suggest bringing cooler/water to stay hydrated.

The foilage color up there should be great - I'll post a shot from last October.

I'll get directions/map on this board by Sat PM.

Any suggestions/alternate plans welcome.

We'll continue to add details as questions & comments come in.

Dan, what's the best way to get there from the Twin Cities, 169 past Mille lacs or 371 thru Brainerd?

I will trust your best judgement for recommended sites. This will be my first for Crosby.

2 1/4 hours? that's moving!

Re:Dive Crosby Sunday, 10/12????
Dan,
Route I take (takes 2h15m from Bloomington):
1. Get on I-94 W up in the NW corner of Mpls (where 494 and 694 meet)
2. Take I-94 west to 101 north
3. Take 101 north to 169 north
4. Take 169 north (toward Elk River, Princeton)
5. Continue on 169 past MilleLacs to Garrison
6. Take 18 west at Garrison to 6 north
7. Take 6 north to Deerwood (6 jogs west a few hundred yards in Deerwood)
8. Continue on 6 north out of Deeerwood toward Crosby
9. Take 6 into Crosby.
10. Turn left (west) on 210 in Crosby to gas station on the right (either an SA or a Holiday - can't remember which)
11. Meet in parking lot

I have a tan Explorer. Cell: 612-532-3011
