Well I couldn't wait so I posted on scubaboard.com and got a lot of very positive feedback. So I bought one, it is very easy to use topside to set up. I will have my first couple of dives on it tomorrow. But so far so good...

What is the price of this computer?

If I remember correctly it is something like a 3 gas computer, nitrox only?

I'm just curious what the difference in price is between the NiTek and say a HS Explorer or VR3.

Sorry, can't help you on the Dive Rite NiTek Duo dive computer.  Haven't read anything about them; don't know anyone diving them.

Have you checked Rodale's Scubalab tests?

Sounds reasonable, big enough difference that it doesn't make sense to upgrade unless you currently need the functionality.

i just bought one from for $320. tulsa's version was $11 cheaper.
