Information on Diving a Dream Fundraiser!
Details are being finalized! Diving a Dream's Private Event will be
held at Underwater Adventures Aquarium, in the Mall of America, on
Saturday, February 18, 2006 from 2:00pm – 6:00pm. There will be
open aquarium tours available during those hours too. There are
still many things to get organized but we also plan to have
hor'duevers and refreshments. The ticket sales information will be
posted soon on

So far, I have asked John Chatterton to be a speaker, he said he
would really like to do that. Chris Conangla with UPN news is going
to emcee the event. I am also hoping to get Neal Watson to come.

My friend Susan Long from DUI has said she'd like to make it as well.
Scuba Radio is offering to do some sort of phone interview at the
time.

We are looking for sponsors to donate items to a silent auction and
raffle. Anyone interested please feel free to contact me! Any dive
stores who want to help in any way, whatever you're willing to give
please contact me!

Or if you know of any big names in the dive community that might
like to be a speaker or help out as well please let me know. I will
be updating the info, once I get more things worked out.

The specific address is as follows....
Underwater Adventures® Aquarium
Mall of America
120 East Broadway
Bloomington, MN 55425

Tickets can be purchase via Pay Pal at this site below.
The cost is $25 if you buy them now and $30 at the door.

I am trying to get as many online purchases for ticket(s) sold by January 10th so we have a good head count for catering, seating,
etc....

Hope to see you there!
Matt

Re: Information on Diving a Dream Fundraiser!
I had the opportunity to attend the Diving a Dream Fundraiser on Saturday along with well over a hundred supporters. Matt was in great spirits and it is evident that he is steadily working toward his goal.  I was amazed and touched by the outpouring of support from family, friends, and sponsors.  I met John Chatterton, star of the History Channel Deep Sea Detectives, and Susan Long, president of DUI.  If you were unable to attend this event please consider giving to this worthy cause at divingadream.org.

One of the presentations featured Matt's scuba instructor, Drew Gerling.  Drew mentioned that he first heard about Matt's dream through the mnscuba.com website.  It's stories like this that encourage us to keep building mnscuba.com.  What we do here makes a difference.

I'll post some pictures below from the event.

The event at Underwater Adventure included several presentations from sponsors and friends -- starting with a very personal and touching introduction from Michael Lombardi with Project Innerspace.

Re: Information on Diving a Dream Fundraiser!
Matt

Thank you for the opportunity to join you at the Diving A Dream Fundraiser at the MOA...I am happy to see that it was such a success and please keep the list posted on your progress toward an open water dive.

Sorry I was not able to stick around and see all the cool prizes get auctioned off, but I needed to get my dive buddy back home early.

I was able to win one of the signed t-shirts by John Chatterton, and I didn't realize that your Dad was bidding as I didn't want to take a cool prize away from him, but glad to see the bid was raised for your dive!  Sorry George for out bidding, but I'd give the T-shirt off my back for you!

Wow - John C. was really a cool guy to talk to, Mel is a super babe, Sue is a great gal,  and most excellent group of people who have worked on your project!

Best wishes

Ron
