Thieves allegedly steal boat motors while diving
Here is a good one divers are being blamed for motors disapearing off of the back of boats that are stored in boat houses on Lake Vermilion. And they are putting them in plastic bags and hauling them away with lift bags

Seems like a lot of work when you could just use a row boat and take them that way.  I don't see a speedy get a way with a motor and lift bags.  Maybe a scooter?  :Smile

If the theives were rednecks then all you'd have to look for is the dive flag.

Yeah...somehow I'd guess the thieves weren't towing a flag.  That wouldn't be too stealth, LOL!

Re: Thieves allegedly steal boat motors while diving
If you got caught stealing outboard motors from boats because you chose to use dive lights and a dive flag float........you might be a redneck

If you were arrested for theft because you had to keep resurfacing at each boat house to ask for directions.....you might be a redneck

"Hey!!!! you stealing that outboard motor off the back end of my boat?"  "NOPE...just  thought i would use my lift bag to add a little extra boyancy to the back end of your boat"...................................Here's your sign...
Oops Did I really say that?????

Re: Thieves allegedly steal boat motors while diving
I guess I have to put my 2 cents in to Max  When you read the newspaper do you ask the editor to change there story line because of the way it is worded to draw attention to the article and get you to read it.  with the years I have in diving espicially the millatary and getting DCS, when I read it, it didn't even cross my mind I guess the word "Divers" meaning more than one and "taking" meant they were being blamed for something draw me to the article. If it would have said " Diver takes a hit I would have expected DCS.
When you "assume"  and I hope you know what that stands for it is usually true
