Mr. weekend and I had a meeting with the park planner. Very nice person. They have some very very ambitious plans for the whole area.
The only problem is I probably wont be alive to see it come to fruition.
Most of the land they want to include is privately owned. Currently the DNR has little money to acquire it even if the owners wanted to sell. I have met a couple of them and they think that it is still extremely valuable as a mining entity and the Gov. wants to rip them off.
I really hear you about the roads. However because it is private land, the landowner is responsible for the roads. So don't look for much help there.

The key here is "private"... State officials can only regulate state land.

So I hope you will all donate to my defense fund.
