Does the Gulf of Thailand even get that deep? Last time I was in Ko Chang, we had to take rather long boat rides just to get water in the 60-foot range. Anything shallower was warmer than I personally like my bath water (not refreshing at all). And the diving wasnât that interesting either.
I say, if you are going to fly that far, might as well dive something decent. In Thailand, the Andaman Coast is better though nothing spectacular (well, with the exception of Richelieu Rock, that place is amazing). The better diving is further south. My personal favorite in the area is Pulau Weh, off the north coast of Sumatra. - Kirk |
