Re:Ice Diving (Brrrrr)
Could you hand a light or strobe from the hole like you would for night diving in normal conditions from the dive flag, or is that standard practice? Seems to me like it would be a good idea.

This adds to Chris's post:

On my first night dive in the ocean , the boat hung a strobe off its bow.
It was really easy to see and made finding our way back fairly easy.

I was thinking about the Rope lights. How much fun would it be to make an ascent line out of a rope light. You could even have different colors at different depths Big Grin

I wonder how strong they are? I think they are sealed so under water should be fine.

Re:Ice Diving (Brrrrr)
Hi, all. Wish you could have been at Square Lake last Saturday, March 15th! Wow, what an awesome day to do an ice dive. 65F+, sunny, 24"+ ice, 20+ft vis and great company. I was doing my PADI Ice Diver checkout with Tim Thomas via Scuba Daddy's in Burnsville. The warm weather was only a few days old at that time. A bit slushy at the start and downright sloshy at the end... perhaps one of the last days to get down before the ice at the shores would be melt.
