I absolutely agree. When I was doing my fin pivots for my check-out, the thermocline was about a foot off the platform floor. I didn't have a hood or gloves (I'm very warm-blooded), but I was very glad for the 7mm wetsuit. Seriously... that thermocline will make you very happy that most of your body's covered.
Besides, you've got enough task loading going on without freezing your butt off.
