Re: Ice Dive 2-06-2010 green lake

No sense in starting Valentines Day a week early. Go swimming instead. The "pool" at Green Lake opens at 7:00 AM Big Grin My jeep is loaded. Shooter, I will bring the extra screws in the orange pack and the carabiners that were on the com ropes (two alum and two steel)

Re: Ice Dive 2-06-2010 green lake
Great day of diving today. AandA, Shooter, Doug67, and I got to the lake at 7:00 and found a spot by triangulating in between previous dive sites. We ended up in a very target rich environment. By the end of the day we had found 17 anchors, a minnow bucket, 2 ice dippers, a lure, a stern light from a boat, a V8 engine block, an alternator (not on the engine block), a toy car, a rod holder, a wind up alarm clock, and a couple of coffee cups. We ate very well too. Shooter brought Amberjack and Mangrove Snapper and deep fried it right on the ice. I can't tell you how good that was. We did do a disconnected diver drill. It is harder than you think on all fronts. It would be a good thing to practice if you do any amount of ice diving as it is a real eye opener. If you really need to do it someday, the chances for success are better if you had practiced it.

Green lake is the best hunt, ever.

How can one lake have so many anchor?
Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

EXCELLENT BOOTY....    looks like you guys are doing a great job doing all that clean up.

Looks like the vast majority of the boat anchors had bad ropes attached.  I hope the boat owner and fisherman, don't figure out that they should make sure the line is still in good shape.  Climbers, always check and inspect they're ropes before each dive.  Thank goodness that doesn't happen in fishing.  lol.

Hope they don't take Bob's class on ropes and knots coming up.

oh,  and by the way,  COLTS WIN  40 to 27

who dat nothing.....  COLT DAT....!

LOVE SCUBA DIVERS THAT GO DEEP.   I personally can't go beyond 150, but maybe someday.

"Climbers . . .  before they dive".

Interesting concept,  I wonder if they always check their "no fly" limits before they climb after diving. Wink
