I may have to persuade my hubby to let our son try it out!  It will be his 10th B-Day!

Will they have gear small enough for 10-year-olds?  how about Full Face mask for my claustrophobic friend?

We will have gear small enough for a ten year old but no full face masks.
You could have your friend at least try scuba with a regular mask.

Re: Discover Scuba at the Dive into the Past show
My 10-year-old son got to try scuba in the pool on Saturday.  He enjoyed it and seemed to get the hang of it before the instructor had the next youngster ready to go.  But the B/C they had on him was an x-small and was still floating about half a foot away from his shoulders.  Now we will have to see when he feels he's ready to do the full class!

I think it was a great idea to have the Try-Scuba class at this event!  Hope to see it going on next year too!
