Lakeland Sturgeon Bay
Drivin home from Sturgeon Bay (Presque Isle, Straights Mackinac) after diving the steam ship Lakeland which foundered in 1924.  This wreck is unique as it is the basis of urban legend around the Great Lakes: the ship laden with antique automobiles... This is the real deal!  The ship is full of Nash automobiles (think Chitty Chitty Bang Bang).  I was crewing on the Molly V, and local divers Rick P, Pat B, and Greg H were aboard with their CCRs.

The wreck sits upright, split in middle, in about 200 ffw.  It takes several dives to explore the massive exterior, automobiles spilled out crack, and nifty artifacts laying strewn around befor you need to penetrate inside.  Exploring inside you will find more intact autos.  This trip I was fortunate to see some rare artifacts (intentionally not identified) that are typically seen in divers dens...

This is one of the must see shipwrecks and just reason to consider tech diving, you need mix to do this stuff

good diving

Deep Thought
Start with training, continue with adventures.
