I just got done helping my son with a Biography of a Famous Explorer....

Ask me anything about Cousteau!  The man and his "Mosquemers" (Like the 3 Musketeers...Only underwater!) logged 500 dives the summer they developed a working AquaLung unit.  Too bad Emile Gagnon got so little of the credit!  :Smile

Ok Lisa, how old was Cousteau on his last dive, and where did the Calypso finally end up? Now that I've been told I'm too old to do 1000' on my 1000th dive :-\.

Calypso was sunk in a barge accident in Singapore, raised and refloated back to France.  It sat in a Harbor in Rochelle, France from 1996 until last year when Francine Triplet Cousteau finally got the title and permit to have it re-fitted.

Jacques was 87 when he died, and he was still diving up until the last year as long as the water wasn't ice cold!

I would recommend using a Bathyscape or sub or at least a JIM Suit to do 1000 ft.  Cousteau lost a diver at 397 feet from Nitrogen Narcosis.

397 feet from Nitrogen Narcosis........... Thats why they invented Trimix.
Trimix takes all the fun out of Nitrogen Narcosis ;D

Hhhmmm, hitting 1000 ft on the 1000th dive...just how much deco time would that require anyway...could take you right up to your 30th year  Wink

Deco time
I can't help you there, my crappy deco program only goes to 600ft  :o ;D
