PSD Competition / Win $1,000 cash, $500 travel vouchers, dry suits, etc
The International Association of Dive Rescue Specialists (IADRS.org) is sponsoring the INTERNATIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY DIVER CHALLENGE. Regional challenge events are planned in 11 regions around the United States with the International Finals planned in September, 2010.
All competitors are eligible to win $1000 cash for a timed event that consists of assembling and donning equipment. The times for both regional and final competition will be considered and the two man team with the fastest recorded time will win the $1000. Competitors can also win $500 travel stipends so they can attend that Final Competition that will be held in conjunction with the International Public Safety Diver Conference in Charlotte, NC. The competition is sponsored by Diving Unlimited International, Marine Sonic, Trelleborg Viking, Dive Rescue International, VideoRay, Kongsberg Mesotech, EdgeTech and SubSalve. International Public Safety Diver Challenge results from Pelham, AL
The FIRST International Public Safety Diver Challenge was completed today and Gabe S and Joshua G from DSAR in Alabama are in the #1 position. Their times are included in the e-mail conformation I sent them. See below...
Gabe and Joshua, It was great meeting you at the FIRST International Public Safety Diver Challenge. As confirmation, the two are you came in first place and are eligible to compete in the âInternational Finalsâ and attend the International Public Safety Diver Conference at NO CHARGE. The challenge events are tentatively planned for Sept 20, 21, 22 and 23. The conference is planned for September 21-24. Our scheduling will allow you and other contestants to participate in BOTH events without conflict. We hope to see you both in Charlotte, NC.
