Square Lake June 29, 30, July 1

I will be at Island Lake in Shoreview Thursday. Probably in the afternoon if anyone wants to join in. I am going to hit as many different lakes as I can this summer. I am looking for anything I can find. Other than fish and weeds. Maybe a car or a snowmobile so that I can pull that baby out and get it running. Let me know and I will wait for you.

Monday, July 5th will be Square Lake. You can never have enough dive buddys.

You aren't seriously going to dive that are you?  When at normal levels the max depth is 11 feet.  The water is so low there now that you can't even really get a boat on it anymore at the boat landing.  The entire concrete boat pad is on land.  It's also loaded with weeds and milfoil from the bottom to the surface.  You'll be lucky to find any open water. Also the DNR clarity shows 2.10 feet.  Just thought I'd pass the info on in case you weren't aware of what to expect.  Here's the DNR link.

There is so much more to diving than how far you can see, if all you want to do is look around than use your bath tub. If you go north from the boat launch to the small channel under the free way, there is a lot of stuff to find. we found a motorcycle under the bridge and a lot of old bottles.
We dove the boat launch at spoon lake found a car. went over to the channel under hwy 36 found barrels and road signs.
There is all kinds of stuff down there you just have to be willing to get in there and look otherwise you will miss 90% of the things down there like boat anchors.

I would rather dive in a bathtub than do a muck dive but whatever floats your boat.

I dove Island Lake today. Just because I wanted to. I needed a machete to get anywhere, but I did it. I could see about three feet. I went off the south of the boat landing by a dock. There is so much trash down there. If I go again I will try under the bridge. I am shooting for twenty-five new lakes this summer.
