GLSPS Mayflower Site Map Survey Project
The GLSPS is conducting the First Mayflower Site Map Survey Project this weekend (July 24 & 25).  The GLSPS received a Grant from the Lake Superior Coastal Grant Program for this Project.  The Project participants will practice and hone their documentation and drawing skills to help develop the site map to Place the Mayflower on the National Register of Historical Places.

We will be measuring and drawing the limestone blocks and other shipwreck features.  We will then place our work on a master drawing developed by Archaeologists Keith Meverden and Tammy Tompsen from the Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) to present to the Board of Directors of the NRHP.

Fortunately, we have enough Project participants at this time.  (It filled up quite fast).  If you would like to Participate in the next Mayflower Project September 17 to 20 2010,  please contact Pete McConnell.  Contact information is on the website at, .

Please check the GLSPS Website for more Projects you can sign up and participate in this year.

Safe travels and diving.
