Red Sea 2010 Photos
Here's a small sampling of the photos I took during my August liveaboard trip on the Red Sea:

This was the first chance I got to use my new Canon 7D/Nauticam housing/Inon Z240 strobe rig in the ocean.  I was very pleased with the result even though I obviously have much to learn.  Most of the pictures were taken with a Tokina 10-17 fisheye lens.  The macro shots used a Canon 60mm macro lens.  I also used a Sigma 17-70 zoom lens for some of the fish portraits -- a very versatile lens!

It wasn't a perfect environment to play with a relatively new camera rig.  All of the dives were guided and the dive sites usually had a fair amount of current.  The ever present lion fish made macro shooting at night interesting.  No gear problems during the week and the camera equipment survived 9 planes over a 15-day period.

Nice job Jason!  That Canon 7D is a GREAT camera.  With those three lenses you can shoot anything you want.  It looks like you had a lot of fun.

Best,
Steve
