Ely MN Diving

Just wondering if anyone has dove around Ely.  I was in Miner's pit a few years ago, found about 100 rubber overboots that had been dumped in about 20', and we hit a blackness around 50' that we couldn't penetrate.  Looking at the DNR's lakefinder, some of these lake bottoms, not mine pits, look fantastic, with sharp drop offs, and tall pillars of rock, jutting up from a 60' bottom to perhaps 10' from the surface.  Burntside Lake and Eagles Nest #1 look very interesting.
