                       Popo, as you can tell from the 1st. pic, Joe was in charge on Sun. and much like Captain Edward Smith who had 32 years "working" for the White Star Line, (Joe figuired he that much time being, "alive"). Navagating the ice flows proved tricky for both of them.

I won't be able to get out diving this weekend. 

We have a sprint car to get ready on Saturday, and have my daughter's first communion on Sunday.

It will be spotty for me, from here on.  Keep me posted on where you guys are planning on diving.  I will do my best to get out.  ;D

                   No worries Robert, although it looks like another season has come to an end. Nokomis is ice free and Calhoun is 2/3rds free, and what remains has turned plenty black by 4pm today.
                  Sat. morning I had to swap the blade out on my Husky and cut a tree apart that had fallen , (actually ripped itself out of the ground) due to the last heavy snowstorm.
                  It feels pretty good though, this was only the second weekend since our first ice jump on Dec. 15 that I didn't get out, the first I was in Tobaggo. Its time for the season to come to an end. Next year we have to do more night icing, with the generators, lights and bonfire, that was a good time. I will secure some dedicated high-bay fixtures that will pierce the ice much better then the open fixtures we had. I've been icing for more then 30 years but never thought (as I approach 55 years old), that I'd be averaging 30 ice jumps a season. I'd like to thank everyone who dove with us this year, its been a dandy good time!   THANK YOU!         Trinity

                          No, nothing like that Young Joe, it fell (well tore up out of the ground) due to the weight of the heavy wet snow of the last storm. The hill behind my house is more rock then most of Dakota Co. is, and it had a lot of lean to it and too many fieldstone at its base, and being softwood, all worked against it. I changed my chainsaw blade and dumped out the winter bar oil, (it had some moisture in it, and had started to coagulate up in spots, I suspect due to the changes in temp, something the other icers should check) so good to get it out, reloaded her with summer wt. oil and now she's just green firewood.

still got plenty of ice up north!Its bugging me. kinda want to do a last ice dive on fishing opener!

just got back from lutsen. got 18-36 inches in the northern quarter of the state, with snow on the ground! was snowing today!went out for opener and got snowed on. also gas went up to $4.05 overnight! ice might just last till june 1st at this rate.

                I'm cleaning out my garage, washing machine, and truck,,, and I've come across a bunch of chit. A black sock with "wigwam" on it, a beat up blue towel, a few different dry glove liners, a small gear bag, and a green thong, if I dont hear from you in a week, its all getting the heave-ho!    Trinity
