few times i have been here, vis was low... that is amazing. looks like tonka. ..i know this spot. if you got sucked in, there is now way out i dont think. as it comes out on herriet. but i think in a screened exit

The culvert is approx. 42" diameter, plenty of flow, some brush across it that had lures attached that's what I was originally after. Popo why would they grate the exit and not the entrance, just a potential clog waiting to happen. Curious if its pumped or natural grade? Another culvert close in diameter size just to the east buried under small gravel. Another concrete 2' in diameter is just a storm drain all in the same spot. Would be interesting to find the outflow/spring into Harriet, that could be penetrated, this one has strong enough flow as a siphon that you probably couldn't come back. That's what made me wonder, as the potential deathtrap it is, why its only a couple feet underwater, accessable from shore and NOT grated?

Nice video... for a while I couldn't figure out which diver was carrying around the archaeologically significant mattock pick axe, until I saw Terry's truck keys dangling from a caribiner... and then I saw the split fins and knew it was him. Big Grin

RE: calhoun vis 5-17-2014
John how could you tell they were MY truck keys? I wasn't sure when I found it if it was a pickaroon or a peeve or what, seemed more like a logging tool then dirt working, due to both picks being only 1/2" x about 4", definitely not electrical. When I realized the importance of the find, I carried it the whole way thru the diver till we had doubled back over the very same spot, and plunged her back down into the silt, from where it came, to keep it safe for future generations to enjoy.

I saw the keys and knew it was you, so that you wouldn't have to climb through the back window of the truck again. I thought Pickeroon was you middle name... (Terrence Pickeroon Trinka?) and Peavey Herman was arrested for posing as an electrician Big Grin
