Re: Ice diving
some people like square holes, some triangles!  some groups cut bigger holes than others.  placement of rope anchor points, lines stretched out or coiled, allowable lengths for the main line and safety line, etc...  lots of potential variables!  the cert. agencies aren't known for adhering to the same standards...  ;D
Some people are like Slinkeys - not much good for anything, but they bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs!

Re: Ice diving

Thanks John!  I appreciate it.  I would have never thought that there were so many variables to consider when ice diving.

Re: Ice diving
Hey, count me in for Ice-a-palooza, Steve.  Only made 3 ice dives last year, would like to do better than that this year.

Re: Ice diving
Hi scubajunkie! With all the interest in ice this year, I think we can get something on the books. we need a date.
I think Tonka is the location. If we can get 2 more set-ups we can set the three closest wrecks and let teams move around.
Ask your doctor if getting off your ass is right for you.

Ya Steve I think Tonka's the ticket, set up near or above the Hopkins, or Hercules, might make for some good photo ops if we have decent light penetration, well and we keep Joe from plowing up the bottom like he did looking for that damn weightbelt!        Terry

Re: Ice diving
Minnetonka sounds good.  Some nice little wrecks out there, just right for checking out under the ice.
