Re: Crosby May 25-28
Ugh...you are all making me jealous!  I had a cold last weekend so I couldn't dive, all plugged up and knew I couldn't clear my ears.  This Sat I'm taking my practicals for EMT-B, although I'll be within 1 1/2 hours of Crosby Sunday...meeting the folks half-way for Mother's Day...no diving for me Sunday.

So I'm on the bench until the 25th, but when it comes I'm hoping for 3 dives a day for that weekend.

Tim, once I get these EMT tests out of the way I'll be able to think once again...and we can start plans for a Superior weekend.  ;D

If you are not planning on camping at Portsmouth, you can count on not camping. Last year they made all the campers leave the mine area. The only camping that is allowed is at the campground in Portsmouth. The entry roads are all posted "No Camping" and they are enforcing it.

Interesting.  When did they post the signs Milt?  I guess I haven't been up there since late August last year and I didn't see a single "No Camping" sign and saw plenty of people camping out there.

Someone told my Louise was grandfathered land and excluded from the park?

Not true I guess.

When does the park fill up? Anyone want to let in a stray? If you see a little guy in a silver van wave me in. Smile

I was there last weekend.  Signs are posted.  By the way, 46 at the surface, 37 at 100'

Are the signs posted everywere?  Last year only the Mahnomen 2&3 Area was posted.  Has anyone been to portsmouth this year?  There has been talk of expanding it for some time now.  Last Memorial Day I drove up early Sat morning and got the last site.

Re: Crosby May 25-28
With regard to Louise...  I believe it is privately owned by a mining trust.  So I would think that the State can't do jack about who stays there.  As far as I know we can still camp there.
I camped overnight last week there.

Barring my little girl coming into this world early, you can count me and probably a few others too.
