Anybody make their own weights?

I thought about doing the soft weights but I was able to get the tire weights free and I have read that the lead shot leaves a white residue as it dries that gets on equipment. Not sure if it was true.

I will post up some pics as I go on Tuesday (Monday I have to work, damn it).
