Looks like I'll be draggin the family along, so I need to know where Crosby is, what hotels are close, and where we will be meeting. I'll be goin up Sat morning for Sat diving. Maybe diving Sun morning as well, but I don't know for sure.

p.s. I'll be diving a new dry-suit, so anyone want to play the sitter, let me know. ???

Jeff
Jeff,

Lonnie and I are driving up together on sat morning. You are welcome to follow us up. At least four other people in the group have new drysuits as well -- you will be in good company.

You should be able to find several good hotels in Brainerd. The sites are within 20 minutes of town.
I second that motion on new dry suit. Looks like we all need sitters!!! But thats what makes it fun , right???

Thanks...Jean Smile
I was just up to the Deer River/Crosby area today. Most of the small lakes are clear of ice and some of the larger ones had some lingering ice in the middle. This report is from the lakes I passed by from the road.
I am still diving wet. I hope I do't get too cold ;D

This site has a simple map of the mine pits. Or look on a paper map 14 miles north of Brainerd.

Will be diving w/new wing/bp and working on weight distribution and harness adjustment.
Still pretty new w/the drysuit,too - about 8 dives.
So...
Anyone want to buddy up for shallow test dives, helping each other with new equipment, etc.?
I'll be there all day Sat.
DanL

(Anyone bringing an HID light? I'd like to see how bright/white they are compared to a halogen I'm testing.)
Dan... Jason Baker, Jean and I are newbies with drysuits, bp/wings etc. too so you are in good company. Wink
The ICE is off from the Crosby Mines as of Monday Morning , April 21 , 2003 A W E S O M E !!!
(All the pits are open according to MSD in Brainerd)

YAY

Jean Smile

P.S. Branerd weather for the weekend of April 26-27th:
Saturday. Partly cloudy. Lows in the 30s. Highs 60 to 65.
Sunday. A chance of rain showers. Lows 35 to 40.
Highs in the 50's.

Excellent news. Maybe a little chilly camping Saturday night but that's what sleeping bags are for! Also, I'm guessing since it's cooler out that mosquitos and ticks shouldn't be a problem which is a plus. Wink
